Adaptive Dark is published by HugThePenguin. It adjusts website colors to provide a darker appearance, readable text, and adjustable color temperature. The extension operates locally in your browser.
Information used locally
The extension accesses the current website's URL and hostname to select per-site preferences and keep embedded frames consistent. It examines page elements, computed styles, and whether visible text is present to detect dark themes and adjust colors. This processing occurs inside the browser. Page text, form values, and screenshots are not recorded or sent to the publisher.
The extension stores global preferences and site-specific preferences, including the hostname for sites you configure, in chrome.storage.local. It does not create a browsing-history log, use Chrome's history API, or sync preferences to a cloud service.
Network access and sharing
No user data is transmitted to HugThePenguin or to analytics, advertising, or tracking services. There are no extension accounts, ads, or remote executable scripts.
To identify decorative background tiles, the extension may load a background-image URL already referenced by the current website and inspect its dimensions. That request goes to the image's existing host, which may receive the normal request information supplied by the browser. The extension does not attach settings or page text. Normal website traffic and the website's own data practices remain governed by that website's privacy policy.
Purpose and limited use
Website content and URL information are used only for the extension's disclosed appearance-adjustment features. Adaptive Dark's use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. User information is not sold, used for advertising, or used for creditworthiness or lending decisions. The publisher does not have access to locally processed data.
Retention and deletion
Settings remain in this browser profile until changed, reset, or removed. “Reset this website” deletes that site's saved preferences. Removing the extension removes its local extension storage in the normal browser uninstall flow. Reload open pages after disabling or removing the extension to restore their original styling.

ブラウザ内で使用する情報
サイト別の設定と埋め込みフレームの設定を統一するため、現在のサイトのURL・ホスト名を参照します。ダークモードの検知と配色調整のため、ページの要素、計算済みスタイル、画面内に文字があるかどうかを確認します。ページの本文、入力値、スクリーンショットを記録したり、公開者へ送信したりしません。
全体設定とサイト別の設定は、設定したサイトのホスト名を含めて chrome.storage.local に保存します。閲覧履歴のログは作成せず、Chromeの履歴APIも使いません。クラウドへの同期は行いません。
通信と共有
公開者、解析・広告・追跡サービスへのユーザーデータの送信はありません。アカウント登録、広告、外部の実行スクリプトはありません。
装飾用の背景タイルを判定するため、サイトが既に参照している背景画像URLを読み込み、画像の寸法を確認する場合があります。通信先はその画像の既存の配信元です。配信元にはブラウザが通常付加するリクエスト情報が届く場合がありますが、拡張機能の設定やページ本文は付加しません。通常のサイト通信やサイト側の情報の取り扱いは、そのサイトのプライバシーポリシーに従います。
使用目的と限定利用
サイトの内容やURLは、明示した配色調整機能だけに使用します。Chrome APIから得る情報の使用は、限定利用の要件を含むChromeウェブストアのユーザーデータポリシーに従います。情報の販売、広告利用、信用力や融資判断への使用は行いません。公開者はブラウザ内で処理する情報へアクセスできません。
保存期間と削除
設定は変更、リセット、削除するまでブラウザのプロファイル内に残ります。「このサイトの設定をリセット」で、そのサイトの保存済み設定を削除できます。拡張機能をアンインストールすると、通常のブラウザの削除処理に従って拡張機能のローカル保存領域が削除されます。無効化・削除後は、開いているページを再読み込みしてください。
